No Changing Her Name Now!

We finally got the wall quote in the mail and up! It looks so much better than I ever imagined, the pics don't do it much justice. The 1st pic makes the wall look beige, but you get the idea of the wall color a bit better in the 2nd one! We've still got some work to do this weekend so I'll some more pictures later :)

It's a Girl!!

Had our 3rd ultrasound today and received the very exciting news that Little Bump is actually Little Bumpette. We are going to name her Kaylie Elizabeth Pierce. We just really like the name Kaylie and Elizabeth is the middle name of both of Stephen's grandmothers, one of whom recently passed away. As our hilarious Dr. put it- "either that's a girl, or a boy with a vagina"...haha! So we're going with a girl on that one.

Of course Stephen & I may be the most impatient people on Earth so we went out and bought lots of clothes, a crib mattress and bedding. Hopefully I can talk Stephen into painting this weekend! I'm so sick of the blah flat beige paint in that room. Here is a picture of the crib put together with the bedding...

Otherwise things are going great! Kaylie was measuring just about right on target with our dates and we counted 10 fingers, no preview of the toes though. She's starting to move around quite a bit, especially after mealtime!

Little Bump Takes a Vacation

So we are now 17 weeks along and just returned from a wonderful 7 day cruise in the Southern Caribbean (San Juan, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Croix) with my parents. We had a really great time, but before we left San Juan on the 6th, we received news that Stephen's grandmother had passed away, just 1 week after my grandma. She had a stroke about 2 1/2 years ago and has been living in a nursing facility. She will definitely be missed. Although it was a hard start to the week, we fortunately had a relaxing vacation to follow. I will post some pics as soon as I get around to uploading them all.

As far as baby news, there's not a whole lot new to report! Baby's doing well as far as I can tell, still no movement but hopefully that will be changing soon. We find out 2 weeks from tomorrow whether it is a boy or a girl and we are impatiently waiting for that. Tonight though, we'll be ordering our nursery furniture, so that will be the 1st major baby purchase, so we're looking forward to getting that all set up. I've posted a picture below. I think that's it for now but I will keep you posted on anything new!

15 Weeks!

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!

We can't believe it's been almost 4 months already! Little Bump is definitely making a showing now though which is great, we can't wait to start feeling the little one kick in the next few weeks.

I've been feeling great though and am now completely in maternity clothes, although some of the tops are still pretty baggy, I know I'll start filling them in quickly now though.

Fortunately, my parent's sold their house in Cincinnati and will be moving down to Huntsville in July. We're really looking forward to having them around, it's been a long time since we've lived in the same town! It'll be really great to have some extra support when the baby comes as well.

On a sadder note, my Grandma on my Dad's side passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. It's been difficult but we're all glad she's in a better place now. We love and miss you Grandma!

I think that's it for now, although it's a difficult time right now we've got some really great things to look forward to this year and can't wait to share it with everyone! Vacation is coming up REALLY soon and I think it'll be a much needed break for everyone.

14 weeks + Counting!

Welcome to our new blog everyone! Since things are starting to roll into action with the baby, we thought it'd be nice to share this exciting journey with everyone. Stephen and I are both really excited about welcoming the little one into the world, who has now lovingly earned the nickname of "Little Bump". We're excited to give the baby a real name when we find out the sex on June 29 though!

Right now I am currently just over 14 weeks pregnant, so I'm new to the 2nd trimester but I'm enjoying it so far! I've been really lucky so far with the pregnancy and just had a couple of weeks of nausea but nothing major, so that's been really great! We'll be posting a couple of belly pics as I start to grow more, I'm just now trying to get used to the idea of not squeezing in my jeans anymore!

Quick recap of things so far...

On March 12, we were spending the weekend in Cincinnati with our families and found out that we were expecting. We were so excited that we were there in person to tell our families and hadn't planned it, so it was a huge surprise for everyone I think! Stephen spent the day with his mom and I with my dad, later that evening, Stephen and I said that we had been shopping and wanted their opinion on something and then threw them each a baby shoe. Needless to say, everyone was so surprised, but SO excited! After we told Stephen's parents, we left for a while and when we came back she had already been baby shopping.

1st Ultrasound...

Our first appointment was about 3 weeks after we initially found out, so Stephen and I were really itching to make sure the baby was okay. We did an ultrasound and found out we weren't quite as far along as we initially thought, but all that mattered was the baby was healthy and had a great heartbeat that we could already see on the ultrasound. If you look at the picture, the baby is only where the white line is drawn, the tech even put "baby" on there so we could tell!

2nd Ultrasound...

At our following appointment 4 weeks later, we weren't expecting an ultrasound but we weren't quite far enough along to hear the heartbeat so we were pleasantly surprised! This experience was a lot different! The baby looked huge in comparison and had arms and legs and wouldn't stop moving, it looked like it was doing jumping jacks in there!

3rd Appointment...

Just had our 3rd appointment yesterday, no ultrasound this time but we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat which was very cool! It came in at 150 beats per minute which is really good! We've set up our next ultrasound appointment for June 29th, and we'll find out the gender of the baby then so we're very excited!

I think that's it for now, thanks for checking in and we'll keep you posted as things progress! After we return from vacation in a couple of weeks we'll be starting work on the nursery!
